LMC-TV airs LWV programs on budget, bond & board candidates

At the LWV May 4, 2012 Issues Breakfast Mamaroneck Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Shaps laid out the principles and challenges behind this year’s school budget and bond. The four candidates for three open positions on the Mamaroneck School Board presented their qualifications and reasons for running.

Residents in the Mamaroneck School District will be going to the polls on Tuesday, May 15 to vote on the $124,295,897  budget and a $9.5 million capital bond.  The budget comes with a budget-to-budget decrease of 0.82%; and tax levy increase of 1.08% and a tax rate increase of 2.43%.

Dr. Shaps outlined what the administration and board aimed to accomplish with this year’s budget and the constraints they worked within, particularly the state enacted tax cap.  Click to view the presentation now on www.lmc-tv.org.

More details can be found on the Mamaroneck Schools website at 2012-2013 Budget & Bond Information.

Victor Gatti, Melany Gray and Roger Martin are seeking first terms. Mr. Gatti is running independently; the other three are endorsed by the Committee for the Selection of Candidates for the Mamaroneck School Board.
