Save Friday evening, May 17 from 7:30-9:00 pm for a multi-media Trashion Show at Hommocks Auditorium.
Trash + Fashion = Trashion: High school and middle school students will model fashions created from reused and recycled material. Elected officials and Mamaroneck Schools Superintendent Robert Shaps will judge best fashions. Groovouq, a band of musicians fromMamaroneck High School band will play tunes incorporating found objects into their performance.
This event, sponsored by the Larchmont/Mamaroneck League of Women Voters, puts a twist on waste management. 100% of the money raised from ticket sales ($5.00 for adults and $1.00 for students) will be donated to the Hommocks Ice Rink Trust Fund for the energy system upgrade and renovations at Hommocks Ice Rink planned for 2014.
The show is one in a series of community events sponsored by the local League of Women Voters as part of its 2013 Conservation Civics Initiative.
