Local Gov

The Town of Mamaroneck consists of the Unincorporated Town of Mamaroneck, the Village of Larchmont and the part of the Village of Mamaroneck lying west of the Mamaroneck River, or that part that is not Rye Neck.

Both villages are self-governing, elect their own officials, adopt their own laws, manage their own finances and have separate municipal offices.

The Town provides certain services to the Villages of Larchmont and Mamaroneck such as recreation, property assessment services, and election supervision.

Nevertheless, the villages and the unincorporated area still constitute the Town as a political and governmental subdivision of the State.
