If you missed the May 17, 2013 Trashion Show hosted by the Larchmont-Mamaroneck League of Women Voters, you can still catch it by clicking here for the video.
A Twist on Trash-Trashion Show featured Mamaroneck High School students modeling creations fashioned from recycled materials. They were judged by a panel of celebrities, including NY Senator George Latimer, Mamaroneck Schools Superintendent Dr. Robert Shaps and Mamroneck Town Supervisor Nancy Seligson. Moderated by LWV-LM President Elisabeth Radow and LMC-TV’s Sunny Goldberg, the show was held at LMC-TV and filmed for later broadcast.
Also part of the show was Groovouq, a band of musicians from Mamaroneck High School, which incorporated found objects into their performance.
The show was one in a series of community events sponsored by the local League of Women Voters as part of its 2013 Conservation Civics Initiative. 100% of the money raised from ticket sales was donated to the Hommocks Ice Rink Trust Fund for the energy system upgrade and renovations at Hommocks Ice Rink planned for 2014.
