Why I am Running
During my time on the Board, I have served on a variety of Board committees, including the District Building Committee, PATH, Communication, Curriculum and Security Committee. These Committees have provided me with a deep knowledge and understanding of the District and its operations. For example, on the Building Committee I worked to identify the most important improvements needed to prevent costly emergency repairs, ensure our buildings were ADA compliant and leveraged building space for improved usage. All of this must be considered while being fiscally responsible to taxpayers. I would like to take advantage of the knowledge I gained over the past three years as a Board member and help mentor the newer Board members. I also really like the work! On the Board I am known as the guy who rolls up his sleeves, dives into the work and always has a question. I am collaborative and seek the input and opinions of others. These qualities, together with my 20 years of teaching in early childhood education and experience with plant operations and emergency management will enable me to help the District address the challenges that lie ahead. I hope you will give me a chance to continue this work.
