Absentee Voting Expanded Now in New York State

As of August 20, All New York State Voters Can Now:

  1. Apply to vote by absentee ballot using the “temporary illness” cause;
  2. Apply to vote by absentee ballot more than 30 days ahead of the election; and;
  3. Boards of elections will now process absentee ballots received the day after the election that do not have a visible postmark date.

The League will be creating additional educational documents to ensure all voters understand these new rules and are able to vote in whatever way they feel most comfortable.
