THE LWVUS URGES US TO TAKE ACTION ON THE FEDERAL ERA!
Stand Up and Act, Equality for All
Where does the ERA stand?
The Equal Rights Amendment (The ERA) calls for the protection of equal rights for all from systematic discrimination under the Constitution. The ERA was first introduced in 1923, and with over 100 years of effort, the Amendment has been ratified as of 2020.
The ERA, now our 28th Amendment, has met all constitutional requirements, according to the American Bar Association.
In the last few days of his term, it is crucial that President Biden instructs the US Archivist to certify and publish the ERA in the Constitution. It is time to take action!
