Biographical Statement
I have lived in this community since 2003 and have had children in the Mamaroneck schools continuously since 2009. I am the proud parent of two Mamaroneck High School graduates and one current MHS student. This 17-year journey as a district parent, navigating both general and special education, gives me a first-hand “parent perspective” that I bring to every Board decision.
Professionally, my background in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D., Yeshiva University) and Child Development (B.A., Tufts University) provides the foundation for my approach to student well-being. Since being elected to the Board of Education in 2023, I have served on the Curriculum, Communications, and Policy Committees and led the effort to review and streamline the District’s Code of Conduct.
My community involvement is deep and varied. I am a member of the URJ North American Board and immediate past chair of the URJ 6 Points Sci-Tech Academy. Over the years, I have also volunteered with the STEM Alliance, Larchmont-Mamaroneck Community Counseling Center, Larchmont Temple, The Larchmont Newcomer’s Club and the Mamaroneck Schools Foundation. I am committed to using this experience to ensure an excellent, inclusive education for all students.
Why I’m Running for the Board of Education
I am running for reelection because I believe my combination of Board experience and deep local roots allows me to continue making a meaningful impact on our schools. My first term has provided a nuanced understanding of district governance, curriculum alignment, and policy development. As both a parent and a community member, I have a vested interest in the long-term success of our district and the well-being of all our students.
I am committed to making balanced, informed decisions that are research-based and transparent. My approach is collaborative; I listen to multiple perspectives to find thoughtful solutions to complex challenges. I want to ensure the district continues to use data strategically to improve student outcomes while maintaining fiscal responsibility and the high standards our community expects.
I believe we must continue fostering a school culture where every student feels they belong and has the support needed to reach their potential. It has been an honor to serve this community since 2023, and I look forward to continuing this work with compassion and dedication.
The Biggest Issue Facing Our Schools
One of the most important priorities for the district is strengthening student outcomes through a coherent, aligned, and responsive instructional system. This includes continuing to align curriculum across grade levels and sections, developing common assessments and grading practices, and using those assessments to target instruction for both support and enrichment.
I am proud of the district’s work in increasing opportunities for students and investing in data collection and management. It is essential that we continue to improve our ability to monitor outcomes for all students and use that data to provide timely, targeted interventions, while also expanding enrichment opportunities so every student can reach their full potential.
Another key priority is continuing to create opportunities for students to shape their own educational pathways and develop a sense of belonging in the school community. This aligns closely with the district’s strategic framework, which emphasizes personalization, mentorship, and expertise—ensuring that students have voice, choice, and meaningful connections in their learning experiences.
At the same time, we must continue to address students’ social and emotional needs, which are foundational to their ability to engage and succeed in school.
Ultimately, my goal is for every student to leave our school system with the skills, confidence, and preparation necessary to pursue their individual goals and achieve success in their lives.
